Hi,

I'm installing office 2013 on some computers, however i'm getting an error during installation. It say Office 2013 encountered an error during setup and then I'm getting Microsoft Setup Bootstrapper error.

The operating system of the computers are Windows 7 Pro and Windows 7 Ent.

How can I resolve this?

Since Office 2013, Microsoft is using Bootsrapper technology. It is responsible for the initialization of an application.

There are many reasons for the happening of this problem like a beta edition of Office exists, antivirus or firewall program or other security software, etc.

Please try below steps to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Temporary disable antivirus, Firewall or other security programs, then try again.
2. If you have any previous version of Office installed on your computer, please try to use Microsoft Fix It tool to remove any traces for the old instance.
3. Test in Windows clean boot and see if issue persists: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
